The Challenge

1 in 8 children under the age of 18 have lived in households with at least one parent who has substance use disorder (SUD). Adults battling substance abuse, as well as their children, are frequently the victims of human trafficking.

The COVID-19 pandemic has only introduced new challenges for people with SUD, which has in turn directly exacerbated the domestic child human trafficking crisis.

Our Response

In response to this call, The National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children and No Limit Generation (NLG) partnered to create this series to provide critical guidance and support for children impacted by substance abuse and/or human trafficking. By learning about evidence-based practices to support children, adults are equipped with a higher level of mental health literacy, making them more likely to seek necessary professional help for a child in such traumatic situations.
