I have spent more than ten years working with adolescent communities worldwide to increase access to, and utilization of, comprehensive sexual health resources.

An essential focus of my research, program, and curriculum development with college campuses is confronting the ideological and institutional challenges that affect young people's health, wellness, and autonomy. I work in coalition with university, non-profit, corporate, and community stakeholders to create policies and environments that prioritize gender equity and social justice.

I hope this module provides caregivers with the tools and information to understand the effects of sexual violence and abuse on young people’s mental and emotional health. An awareness of trauma and how it affects the way a child may behave or interact will help caregivers create spaces of support, healing, and empowerment. We want to give the children in the safe havens every chance and choice to flourish.
